There are still a very good number of PHP developers who still work on Widows and MacOS environment. Although seasoned PHP professional advise the use of Linux based environment for PHP development, many find it hard to transform from one OS environment to the other. So invariably we end up using a local AMP stack for development. These tools have evolved over time, are very stable and ideal for PHP development. But deep within, we all have this itch to develop in a Linux enviroment but are afraid of the OS transformation.
